Nostalgia Nausea

A new series in development, featuring paintings, sculptures, and installations that explore the nausea one feels at the possibility of forgetting, altering, or denying memories.

The construct of nostalgia emerges through the reflection of memory, and how this shift in perception can alter the factual value within recollections, causing a fragmentation of the “real” image.

Remembering is treated as an unstable process in which safety, distortion, and loss coexist, producing a mental nausea within the experience of one’s own timeline.

Re-seeing memories differently remains a constant concern.
