The work MARY talks about the false sense of security experienced during sleep.

The body feels present in another dimension, active and capable, as if it could protect itself. Yet this protection is imagined.

The dog stands alert but without a head. It cannot see, hear, or smell. Though it appears to guard the space, it is unable to sense danger or respond to it. The sculpture reflects how, at night, bodily presence creates the illusion of safety, while in reality the body is most vulnerable.
