In this photo I want to represent the balance between nature, eternal, and religion in small villages. I first realised this growing up in a small village in the Netherlands and then deepened in Italy, where I moved to. As I travelled and observed the harmonious relationship between the imperishable nature, shown here in the wild flowers growing by the roadside and the sheep, and the strong religious culture of the small mountain villages, I realised the balance of faith, between believing in a higher entity, the normal flow of everyday life and the fragment of life that remain in the landscape.

In questa foto voglio rappresentare l’equilibrio tra la natura, eterna, e la religione nei piccoli villaggi. L’ho intuito dapprima crescendo in un piccolo borgo nei Paesi Bassi per poi approfondirlo in Italia, dove mi sono traferita. Viaggiando e osservando il rapporto armonioso che si instaura tra la natura imperitura, mostrata qui nei fiori selvatici che crescono sul ciglio della strada e nelle pecore, e la forte cultura religiosa dei piccoli paesi di montagna, ho capito l’equilibrio della fede, l’equilibrio tra il credere in un’entità superiore, il normale scorrere del quotidiano e i frammenti di vita che restano nel paesaggio.
